During this 13 day tour of Nepal, the Mindful traveller will find themselves close to finding that, whilst immersed in the experiences from the local culture and Buddhist history. This trip has a focus on the practice of Yoga and meditation, with Asanas performed for health purposes, stress relief or physical exercise. Combing breathing exercises and meditation to improve your well-being.

Travel Style: It's time to find your inner wellness traveller. If you want to discover inspiring locations with rejuvenating activities like yoga and meditation, and healthy food experiences to recharge and nourish the body and mind.

Physical Rating: Physical Rating: The tours may include hiking, biking, rafting, or kayaking in addition to walking.

Age condition: Travellers must be 12+ and travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Trip Type: Small group experience; Maximum 15 people, Average 12 people.

Accommodations and Meals

Accomodation: Hotels (8 nights), monastery guesthouse (2 nights), homestay (2 nights).

Meals:12 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 9 dinners. Please allow for 20,000 - 25,000 Rupee for meals not included.

THE ITINERARY

DAY ONE

On arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll have an opportunity to explore and let your inner guide lead you through this fascinating city and join a Yog Nidra Yoga Class, yogic method, which uses a scientific process to relax our body the perfect tonic post a flight to overcome jet lag.

DAY TWO

Arise on your second day with Standing Yog Asana Class, followed by breakfast and explore city whilst visiting Swayambhunath Stupa and the Sisterhood survivors project to learn how to make Momos (dumplings). After a local lunch visit, one of the most significant Buddhist shrines Boudhanath Stupa for a tour, finishing with a meditation class.

You can opt to take an Everest flight for a supplement- imagine seeing this awesome sight from the air, without having to make the climb.

DAY THREE

Rising early on your 3rd day for a sitting Yog Asana class, a little free time before heading of the Pharning, to settle into the Monastery guesthouse.

This calm and serene oasis of the active Azom Monastery has simple but comfortable accommodation. This monastery is the Nepalese branch of the glorious Azom Lineage and the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The Monastery endeavours to provide love, care and education to student monks, their purpose to spread the teachings of the Buddha to all who wish to discover.

DAY FOUR

On your fourth day, arise early to join the Monks for a prayer ceremony, then take a lying Yog asanas class. You have the rest of the day to explore, to talk to the teachers and learn more about Buddhism. Finish this spiritual day with an evening meditation with the monks.

DAY FIVE

The next day chooses to join the monks for early morning prayer before travelling back to Kathmandu airport for a flight and then drive to Lumbini the birthplace of Buddha. Take time to enjoy the Lumbini gardens, Maya Devi Temple and other monasteries in this stunning UNESCO World Heritage area.

DAY SIX

Rise early to practice our yoga poses with the CEO. The remainder of the day is free to explore, rent a bike or visit other monasteries in a Lumbini garden.

DAY SEVEN

On your seventh day rise early again for a Yoga session then drive to Barauli, home to the Tharu people where this small indigenous community Homestay lies close to the Chitwan National park. During your time here you will have lunch, walk through the village and visit a local home for a cooking demonstration, pick vegetables from their farmland and help with dinner preparation.

DAY EIGHT

Our eighth day starts with a cycle down to Narayani River where we practice yoga postures learnt so far. Then after lunch, travel by 4x4 to the Buffer Zone of Chitwan National Park to search for Rhino, deer, crocodiles, birds and maybe an elusive tiger on a jeep safari. Later return to the Tharu community for dinner, local music and dance.

DAY NINE

The 9th day starts again with an optional Yoga session before you drive to Rupakot, beautiful natural heaven just outside Pokhara, to take in the views across the valley and the distant Annapurna Himalaya range, and this evening enjoy a meditation session. You’ll stay two nights here in this unspoilt and tranquil village; there are pools and spa to be enjoyed while here.

DAY TEN

From the hotel gardens, day ten will have you taking a yoga session as the sun rises over the Annapurna ranges. Later take a hike in the hills to meet the Gurung community and enjoy a picnic lunch.

The evening will finish with another relaxing meditation programme perfect for preparing you for a good nights before the next day of your journey, which starts with a yoga and meditation session and day to enjoy your surroundings.

Later you’ll head to Pokhara town for the night, once a vibrant trade route between India and Tibet, a beautiful village set in a tranquil valley. Still to be seen are mule trains bringing goods to trade from the Himalayas. With many lakes and panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks, it serves as a perfect location to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

DAY ELEVEN

Enjoy a morning yoga and meditation session before heading into Pokhara town for the night. Take an orientation walk with the CEO and have some free time to explore. During your time here you’ll have the opportunity to take a Shirodhara Therapy session, a 5000-year-old Ayurvedic system to naturally heal. Streaming warm oil over your head to give you a feeling of calmness and deep relaxation.

DAY TWELVE

Why not if you don’t mind heights take in a view above the city early next morning, surrounded by the snow-capped Annapurna mountain from above on a Paragliding experience or if not take part in a morning yoga class before catching a flight back to Kathmandu.

DAY THIRTEEN

In Kathmandu, you can opt to join a singing bowl therapy session, before departing on day 13. You can choose to extend your tour, we have lost of options or make your way back to the airport for your journey home in your new Zen state, reflecting on your learnings about this fascinating, spiritual country and yourself.
