From hot flushes to acne, back ache to bloating, the menopause brings with it a whole host of symptoms and emotions that are not always expected and can sometimes knock you for six! Our new Signature Women’s wellness days have been specifically designed to debunk the myths surrounding the menopause and give women the knowledge and tools to conquer its symptoms.

By the end of the day you’ll feel, relaxed, restored, and take away a tool kit of techniques to use at home including:

  • Cooling breathing techniques to reduce heat

  • Calming yoga poses to relieve stress and insomnia

  • Nutritional guidance for your body’s changing needs

  • Ayurveda and alternative therapies from the East

  • The latest medical research from the West

  • CBT and Mindful meditation to alleviate anxiety

Your body is experiencing a dramatic transformation that can have a physical, mental and emotional impact, as well as affect your work, self esteem and relationships. Through coming together and sharing experiences, we realise we are not alone.


 
This day retreat will give women a toolkit of yoga, meditation and breathing techniques, nutritional recipes, natural remedies, and nurturing Menopause treats in a special goodie bag.
 

Proposed Itinerary

9.45am – 10.00amMorning Introduction with refreshments

10.00am – 11.00amWhat is the Menopause?an interactive workshop where you will learn the facts about the menopause, debunking the myths, banishing the taboos and understanding the science behind your symptoms. The workshop ends with an energising meditation technique

11.00am – 11.15am – Short break for refreshments

11.15am – 12.30pm Combating Stress, Anxiety and Hot Flushesthis is an active workshop where you will learn yogic poses and positions that can specifically help with Stress and Anxiety. Ending with a meditation practise, that can be used to help manage hot flushes.

12.30pm – 1.00pm - Short break for refreshments and time for questions

1.00pm– 2.00pm – A Healthy Lunch is served – specifically designed by our chef using ingredients that support the body during menopause

2.00pm – 3.00pm – Nutrition – an interactive workshop showing you how nutrition can support the body during the menopause and help you understand the minefield of menopausal supplements!

3.00pm – 3.15pm – Short break for refreshments

3.15pm – 4.00pm – Restore – in this active workshop you will learn yoga postures that can specifically help with insomnia.

4.00pm – 4.20pm – Take Home Tips you will be guided through CBT and mindfulness exercises that you can take home to help manage your symptoms.

4.20pm – 4.30pm – Uplifting Positivity – we will end with a breathing technique designed to uplift and increase positivity

4.30pm – Home time

Introducing The Expert

We are really excited to introduce Petra Coveney. Petra is a highly experienced BWY instructor who teaches at some of London’s leading Yoga studios and specialises in Women’s Wellness. She was the first Yoga Instructor to become a Member of the British Menopause Society and works directly with top menopause specialists. Petra is a wealth of knowledge on all things menopause and we are delighted to welcome her on board for our first Women’s Wellness Day experience.

What to bring

The day includes an element of self-reflection, so please bring a notebook or journal for writing, water and warm clothes for restorative relaxation.

Who should attend

Sharing experiences is an important part of this special retreat, so please only attend if you are going through peri (pre) or post-menopause.
